My name is Tori Akselrad and I am here to tell you the raw and unfiltered details of my life with binge eating disorder. I am currently in a self designed recovery and have made tons of progress over the past few years. At this point in my life I am obsessed with all things Whole30, keto, paleo, meditation, and mindfulness. I avoid sugar and processed foods like it’s my job. I am constantly evolving in my health and wellness journey and I hope to inspire and help others who are struggling in their own relationship with food. My Book In A Blog series:
I wanted to start this blog giving you a history of my experience with binge eating disorder and how it evolved from the beginning. I spent the first few months writing my story in a “Book In A Blog” series. Each post in the series is titled with a Chapter number. If you click on the Book In A Blog tab on the drop down menu at the top of the page, it will display all the chapters in chronological order. This “book” will give you an idea of how my binge eating disorder evolved over time starting from childhood up until the very recent past.
The rest of my posts are more current content based on my life these days. I now follow a relatively strict Whole30/Keto lifestyle. I eat very low carb most of the time because I have learned that it is a style of eating that works best for me both mentally and physically. I am a huge advocate for eating REAL food, and most of my posts are based around general health, wellness, and using real food as recovery (for more than just binge eating).
As a certified health coach, it is my mission to help as many people as possible in their personal health journey. Of course I am very passionate about coaching others who struggle with binge eating disorder, but I will work with anyone who is looking to make a lifestyle shift and feels I would be a good fit for them. Whether it be dealing with emotional eating, sugar addiction, shifting to Paleo/Keto, or just wanting to make small changes to start, I am here to coach you through this very exciting time.
